“Children’s Sholokhov Spring”

“Sholokhov Spring” will be opened on May 27, with a folklore holiday “Children’s Sholokhov Spring” which begins at 15.00 in Stanitsa Karghinskaya, where the great writer spent his childhood and youth.

The guests are awaited by an unusual immersion into the world of cinema. At the photo exhibition “The World of Sholokhov in Cinema” the visitors will learn about the history of filming Sholokhov’s works, will see the working moments of the filming, fragments of the films, photos of the actors.

On this day anyone can become a member of the film crew of the picture “Our Stanitsa”, which will tell about the life of Stanitsa Karghinskaya in the years, when young Sholokhov lived there.

Together with the actors of “Gorodok” theatre of the Azov Children and Youth Art Media Centre the guests of the holiday – children and adults – will go casting, then they will fall into the hands of dressers and make-up artists, will take part in a rehearsal and then – in a real film shooting process with the use of professional cameras and other cinematographical techniques and requisite. During the holiday the film will be edited, and just here, at “Sholokhov Spring”, its premiere will be shown. To make a worthy advertisement for the film there will be held a competition of billboards and slogans, where the guests of the holiday will take part.

This time the games, competitions and master-classes for children will be devoted to the art of cinema: the boys and girls will draw fragments of their favourite films on paper, fabric and glass, make “a happy ticket” and take part in the quiz “Cinema Expert”.

The concert program in Stanitsa Karghinskaya will show over thirty folk groups from different parts of Russia.

There will be an exhibition of children’s works and attractions. The children will be able to have a ride on a pony, join the games of little Don Cossacks and go touring about the exhibitions of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov. The day will end with a holiday evening show “Spring Disposition”.

On Saturday, May 28, “Children’s Sholokhov Spring” will continue in Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya, where in the People’s House you can join the lecture of T.N.Omelchenko, a journalist, film producer and screenwriter, who will tell about

Alexander Khanzhonkov, a pioneer of Russian cinematograph. The lecture “Khanzhonkov from Khanzhonkovo” will be accompanied by the frames from documentaries and feature films.

All the secrets of “Children’s Sholokhov Spring” will be discovered only at the holiday.
