Meeting with Alexander Mikhailov Took Place in Sholokhov-Centre

A creative meeting with Alexander Mikhailov, People’s Actor of Russia, professor, the leader of the actors’ workshop of the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography, took place in Sholokhov-Centre of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov on May 18, International Museum Day.

The evening meeting was held under the support of The Ministry of Culture of Russia, “Association of Educational Institutions of Art and Culture” and the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography within the frames of the project “Cinema of Russia. Connection of Generations” dedicated to the Year of Russian Cinema and the 110th anniversary of S.A.Gerasimov, the famous Soviet film director.

The meeting was attended by A.Sholokhov, Director of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov, V.Malyshev, Rector of the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography, S.Gorban, Head of the Rostov-on-Don Administration, and creative intellectuals of the city.

The famous actor shared his view of the development of the domestic film-making and the nature of the actor’s profession, and answered the listeners’ questions. During the meeting A.Mikhailov recited the poetry of Russian classics and songs.

V.Malyshev, Rector of the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography, spoke at the meeting informing that a “Cinema Club” based on the Rostov branch of the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography will be opened to hold creative meetings, master-classes of cinematographers and to show the students’ works and Russian and foreign films. The four-year students of the faculty of acting (the workshop of A.Mikhailov) will show their diploma spectacles in Rostov and Taganrog.

On May 21, in the Palace of Culture of Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya, the students of the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography will show a spectacle “Birthday Party, or Cat’s House” (director and teacher Tamara Akulova, Honoured Actress of the Russian Federation). The beginning: 18.00.
