The Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov congratulates everyone on the International Museum Day and welcomes to the exhibitions and Museum sites in Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya, Stanitsa Karghinskaya, Kruzhilin Village and Rostov-on-Don. Today all the exhibitions work for free.

All the Museum sites hold museum classes, master-classes and interactive tours.

In Rostov-on-Don, Sholokhov-Centre of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov, a creative meeting with Alexander Mikhailov, an actor of theatre and cinema, People’s Actor of Russia, begins at 19.00.

On these days the exhibition halls of Sholokhov-Centre show a large-scale exhibition “Sholokhov’s Personages in Cinema” dedicated to the Year of Russian Cinema. The meeting with Alexander Mikhailov will continue the theme of cinema: the people’s actor will tell about the peculiarities of the actor’s profession, about the role of cinema today, about shooting the films “The Men”, “Love and Pigeons”, “A Day of the Division Commander”, “Victory”, “A Front behind Enemy Lines” and others, and will answer the guests’ questions. The audience will be shown fragments of the films, where the actor performed. The meeting entrance is free.

The international campaign “Night of Museums-2016” is also dedicated to the Museum Day and is going to be held on May 21. In Sholokhov-Centre of Rostov-on-Don, from 18.00 to 21.00 you can attend the exhibition “Sholokhov’s Personages in Cinema” dedicated to the Year of Russian Cinema and take part in the fascinating master-classes. The museum-workers will teach everyone to make up an original fan bearing pictures of the Museum sites, to make masquerade masks and will invite you to a secular reception.

The program of the “Night of Museums” will include a performance of the folk song and dance groups, games and competitions. A souvenir shop will work, where you can buy tea of the Don herbs and bakery.

We are glad to have visitors any day. Remember, please, that until November 1, the Museum is open seven days a week.
