The Estate of M.A.Sholokhov on May Holidays

On May days the Memorial Estate of M.A.Sholokhov was visited by 1391 people. The tourists from Moscow, St.-Petersburg, Volgodonsk, Belgorod, Volgograd, Ryazan, Krasnodar and from foreign countries – Italy, France and Abkhazia came to visit the home of M.A.Sholokhov, to feel its inexpressible atmosphere and bow to the tomb of the writer.

They shared their impressions in the Guest Book: “Thank you a lot for the interesting and informative excursion! For your hospitality. Sincere, kind, smiling people! Take care of the heritage of Russia’s ancestors for future generations! Great thanks for the memory! E.N.Gladchuk, Shakhti, the Rostov Region. May 2, 2016”; “Thank you very much for keeping the memory of M.A.Sholokhov, the great writer of the Don land. Rostovites. May 3, 2016.”

On May 7, the Memorial House of the great writer was visited by a guest from Italy, Gianluigi Donnelly, chief editor of news and multimedia of “24 Hours” mediagroup. He prepared a report about the Don country for the Italian radio. A special attention in it was paid to the life and work of M.A.Sholokhov.

In the Guest Book he wrote: “…from Milan to…Sholokhov. In search of a Russian soul, the home of the great writer and his big family is a necessary stage. Thanks for the welcome and for your valuable work on preservation of his heritage. I hope many Italians will be able to learn through you about the Don country.”

The Memorial House and Estate of M.A.Sholokhov were also toured by Svetlana Rozhkova, a pop actress, Honoured Actress of Russia, and her husband Yury Yevdokunin, a singer and director. The actress was delighted to visit the Memorial House: “Let Lord give you luck on your way! Keep the memory about the great man! My feelings overwhelm my heart. For the first time in my life I don’t want to joke!!! Always with you. Svetlana Rozhkova.”
