Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov at the Festival “Intermuseum”

On May 13, in Moscow, the Manezh opens the XVIII International Museum Festival “Intermuseum-2016”, which is joined by the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov.

On May 13–16, the unique cultural area of the festival will embrace over 300 museums of Russia and foreign countries showing to the wide public a kind of “Boundless Museum”. Its main purpose is to attract attention to the museum as an important instrument in the areas of the intercultural dialogue, to its social mission.

The opening ceremony of the “Intermuseum-2016” takes place on May 13, at 11.00.

On the same day, from 13.30 to 14.45, a creative meeting in the frames of the Year of Russian Cinema will take place at the main stage of the festival: Sergei Ursulyak, the film director of the film “The Quiet Don”, and Alexander Sholokhov, Director of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov, will speak about filming the classics, about the work with historical and ethnographical material and about the experience of Cinema and Museum cooperation.

Sholokhov Museum invites all the guests to visit section Б1, where master-classes will be shown:

“Cossack’s Preparation for the Military Service” (some fancy-riding techniques will be shown with a full-size horse model).

“A Day at a Cossack Gymnasium.Write with a Pen Beautifully” (a lesson of calligraphy early in the XX century).
