Cadets Won the Cup of “Sholokhov Source” Movement

On April 27, in Stanitsa Karghinskaya, where the idea of the major Sholokhov’s epopee novel “And Quiet Flows the Don” was born, the I Round of the XVII Rally of the Children and Youth Environmental Movement “Sholokhov Source” was held for the first time.

13 teams from the Rostov, Volgograd, Voronezh regions, the Krasnodar Territory, Yaroslavl and Rostov-on-Don, Kabardino-Balkaria and Abkhazia gathered in the farmstead of T.A.Karghin.

The young ecologists were welcomed by A.M.Sholokhov, Director of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov, T.Y.Khibukhina and A.V.Abakumov, environmental specialists of the Rostov Region Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

The children visited the memorial structures of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov and went sightseeing.

The program was rich: the young ecologists took part in the literary contest and campaign “The Time to Gather Stones”, did the environmental tests, defended their research papers, went by the itinerary “Karghin Paths of Sholokhov’s Personages” and showed their decorative articles made of recycled materials.

The contest results being summed up the I Prize went to the Orlov Cossack Cadet Corps, which took part in the Rally for the first time; the II Prize went to the team of the Bukanovskaya school, the III Prize went to the Bokovskaya school named after Y.P.Telichenko.

All the Rally members were awarded the diplomas, letters of thanks and presents.

The Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov thanks all the children who took part in the Movement and wishes the young ecologists a further success in their environmental work.

The winners will take part in the II Round of the XVII Rally of the Children and Youth Environmental Movement “Sholokhov Source”.
