“Rostov Reads Leo Tolstoy” in “Sholokhov-Centre”

18.04.2016

On April 15, “Sholokhov Centre” of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov held a literary meeting “Rostov Reads Leo Tolstoy” joined by the students of the Southern Federal University, the Rostov State University of Railway Transport and the 6-form students of V.N.Tsyganov gymnasium 118.

The meeting began in the exhibition halls showing the exhibition “When You Can’t but Write…” devoted to the life and work of L.N.Tolstoy. Then, in the multimedia area, the students took part in the quiz on the works by Tolstoy.

Sitting by the makeshift fireplace the members of the meeting read aloud fragments of the works by L.N.Tolstoy “The War and Peace”, “Anna Karenina”, “Sebastopol Stories”, “Childhood” and “Adolescence”.

The creative group of students showed a literary and musical performance: A.Larin, an actor of the student theatre “Universum”, performed a fragment of the diary 1851 by L.N.Tolstoy, where the writer with enthusiasm and inspiration spoke about Gypsy songs, and the actors of the folk group “Lyubava” performed Gypsy songs and dances. The actors were given presents.

The creative meetings in “Sholokhov Centre” of the Museum-Reserve have become traditional and attract more and more fans and lovers of literature and arts.
