The World of Sholokhov’s Personages as Viewed by Children

Schoolchildren of the Sholokhov, Bokovsky, Verkhnedonskoy and Oblivsky districts of the Rostov Region took part in the contest “Our Sholokhov” dedicated to the birthday of M.A.Sholokhov.

The contest “Our Sholokhov” is held annually for about thirty years for children enthusiastic about the writer’s work. The contestants convey their impressions of Sholokhov’s books in their works. This year the schoolchildren of the Oblivsky District for the first time took part in the contest and their debut was a success.

The children presented their creations in the nominations “Dramatic Reading”, “Arts and Crafts” and “Research Works”.

During the three days the young contestants presented their works, brought new experience for children and adults, and inspired them for new creations. The contest winners were awarded certificates and received free admission to the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov. All other contestants received Letters of Thanks from the Museum.

The winners of the contest “Our Sholokhov” will take part in the holiday “Children’s Sholokhov Spring”, which will be held on May 27, in Stanitsa Karghinskaya: the best reciters will perform in the concert program with fragments of Sholokhov’s works, and the drawings and articles will be shown at the exhibition.
