Contest “Our Sholokhov”

The contest “Our Sholokhov” dedicated to the writer’s birthday and the Year of Russian Cinema will be held on April 6–8. The competition will be joined by schoolchildren from the Verkhnedonskoy, Bokovsky, Oblivsky and Sholokhov districts of the Rostov Region.

The children will present their works in the four nominations:

* research works – presentations themed: “Book and Cinema: the Life of Sholokhov’s Personages on the Screen”;

* dramatic reading of fragments of the works by M.A.Sholokhov;

* fine art;

* arts and crafts.

Within the last two nominations the contestants are to submit for the contest their drawings and handicrafts dedicated to the work of M.A.Sholokhov and the culture of the Upper Don Cossacks.

The works of the contestants will be demonstrated during the visiting sessions of the organizing committee and the jury, which will take place on April 6–8:

April 6 – in Stanitsa Karghinskaya the Bokovsky District, secondary school;

April 7–in Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya, in the “People’s House” in: 66, Podtyolkov Str.;

April 8 – in Stanitsa Kazanskaya the Verkhnedonskoy District, in the Children’s Folk Art Centre.
