News“Chocolate Laboratory” of Sholokhov Museum Welcomes You!25.03.2016Is there a child not dreaming to see with his own eyes chocolate rivers and candy banks, view candy wrappers of the last century and try to make real chocolates by himself? The workers of Sholokhov Museum-Reserve help boys and girls make their dream come true. During the first spring month the children of the Sholokhov District learn the tasty “chocolate science” in the excursion and exhibition centre “People’s House”. Primary school students learn the history of the Russian State through the legends about the success of Russian “chocolate kings”, prominent confectionaries and sweets manufactured by them. At the exhibition the children can see century old candy wrappers, sweet boxes, packaging for all kinds of delicacies – real masterpieces of art. Here you come to understanding, why paperboys cried out in Moscow streets: “Everywhere Ask for…” advertising sweets from Einem, the Abrikosovs and other famous pre-revolutionary confectioners. This slogan, which became a name for the exhibition of the Museum of Chocolate and Cocoa History (MISHKA, an affectionate name of the Museum) taking place in the “People’s House” now is familiar to the schoolchildren of Vyoshenskaya. In March, the exhibition was visited by more than five hundred young visitors with a special attention paid to disabled children and orphans. The exhibition is followed by visiting a real chocolate laboratory. Each child has a chance of trying himself as a “chocolatier”, a chocolate master. With enthusiasm the boys and girls choose templates, cut wafer figures and see the chocolate pouring on their sweet things: ships, bears, hearts and cars. Bright children’s eyes, pleased smiles, a lively discussion of the recipes – all these can be seen in each Museum class. The young visionaries decorate their chocolate products so artfully! Most of all the children enjoy wrapping their sweets in foil to take them home and show the results of their “experiments” to their parents. The exhibition “Everywhere Ask for…” is open for children and adults until June 1. The classes in “Chocolate Laboratory” go on. You are welcome to apply for participation: 23-7-99.
