Chocolate Bear is Waiting for Guests

09.03.2016

The excursion and exhibition centre “People’s House” of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov opened the exhibition “Everywhere Ask for…” (The History of Russian State on a Candy Wrapper) presented by the Museum of History of Chocolate and Cocoa (“MISHKA”).

The interactive presentation of the exhibition involved the spectators into the performance. All the guests got to the ball of Chocolate Queen, where there were plenty of competitions, riddles, comic divination and chocolate tasting. Following that, they joined the work of the “Chocolate Laboratory”, where the children tried themselves as chocolatiers.

The guests were welcomed by A.M.Sholokhov, Director of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov, and E.M.Tolstopyatenko, Head of the Exhibition Department. They noted that the active exhibition work of the Museum enables the residents and guests of the stanitsa to see the exhibitions telling about the life and work of M.A.Sholokhov and the collections of the best Russian and foreign museums.

At the exhibition the visitors learned about the history of chocolate, which is over three thousand years old, about the manufacturing technology and various candy wrappers narrating about the history of the country. The most attraction is the symbol of the Museum of History of Chocolate and Cocoa, a chocolate bear displayed in one of the showcases. The exhibit is 3.5 kg weight and 45 cm tall. Every visitor can see the bear and other very interesting exhibits.

There is a “Chocolate Laboratory” for children, where they will learn the secrets of confectionary art and reveal new recipes of sweet making.

You are welcome to the exhibition “Everywhere Ask for…” which will run until June 1, 2016.
