Shrovetide Marking, Spring We are Calling!

The Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov invites all the holiday makers to the excursion and exhibition centre “People’s House” for theatrical classes devoted to Shrovetide being a source of numerous rites, traditions and customs.
The members of the classes will learn about the traditions of celebrating Shrovetide in the Upper Don region, join a merry roundelay, enjoy funny songs, compete in guessing riddles and make a Shrovetide Doll.
The hosts in makeshift Cossack kurens (Cossack houses) will entertain the guests with tea and cakes symbolizing Shrovetide holidays.
