“You Can’t Miss a Pleasure of Horse Riding…”

Before the New Year and during the winter holidays, the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov entertained the residents and guests of Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya giving them a pleasure of riding in a horse-drawn carriage. Children and adults enjoyed riding via different routes.

Some of the holiday makers had a ride from the sanatorium “Vyoshensky” to the stanitsa’s centre, the children, who came to the People’s House for the New Year performance enjoyed riding around the central square of the stanitsa. And though there was little snow, the “travellers” were in high spirits.

At the Museum Stables the visitors took part in the interactive tours and enjoyed the horsemen show on the arena and some fragments of the literary and ethnographic holiday “Steed is the Dearest for Cossack”. They learned how a Cossack was equipped for the military service in old times and how to take care of the horses and fed them with carrots. The guests were presented with souvenirs for memory – magnet stickers with pictures of their favourite horses.

We are glad to see our countrymen and guests of Sholokhov country at the Museum Stables to enjoy the contact with the clever, beautiful and proud animals, to learn about their importance in the life of Cossacks, to take part in the master-classes and have a ride in a horse-drawn carriage.
